The deals on square skillets, one of the more rare and typically pricey items for sale on eBay, continues, with the two below (one and two). If you have always wanted a square skillet, either one of these would make a great addition to any collection.

Revere Ware deal of the week – a low start bid square skillet
Square skillets are almost always listed for $100 or more on eBay, as either a starting bid price or a buy-it-now price. But there is little indication of whether they are actually selling at that price. Here is one that should be interesting, an auction for the 11″ (larger size) square skillet starting at just $9.99.
If you are looking for a square skillet, this is a great one to bid one. It will be interesting to see what it ultimately sells for.
Update
Here is another square skillet starting at a very low bit (although this one has no lid).
Revere Ware deal of the week?
This weeks deal is for a square skillet, which usually sell in the hundreds. This one, with out a lid, is listed for a starting bid of just $9.99.
Rare does not equal valuable
You may guess from our blog posts that I spend a fair amount of time looking for things on eBay, and you would be correct. One of the most puzzling phenomenon is some sellers belief that rare equals valuable, despite evidence to the contrary. Consider this listing for an Apple Macintosh Picasso poster.
This seller has relisted this item continuously for at least 5 years, at a similar price. You think they would have gotten the message by now that no-one wants to pay that much for such a thing.
Along those lines comes a listing for a post-vintage era new skillet.
As most people familiar with just a little of the Revere Ware product history know, this particular skillet, while new, is far inferior to the ones made prior to 1968. A similar used one can be had for about $35-$40 on eBay, often cheaper, and probably far less at your local thrift store. And here is a brand new similar type sauce pan being offered for only $25.
It all points to wishful thinking. I would be shocked if this sold for such a price.
Revere Ware deal of the week – square and egg poaching skillets
This weeks eBay deal includes two of my favorite items – the square skillet and a skillet with egg poaching insert.
Square skillets are quite rare, and they typically list alone in the high 100 dollar range.
How to sell on eBay
While the prices are pretty high, seller belles*lettres sure does know how to present items for sale.
The staging of the items, from a photographic standpoint is just superb.
Revere Ware without new parts
For a glimpse of what the market was like for Revere Ware replacement parts before we started selling them almost 10 years ago, take a look at this eBay listing:
At $199.99 for 9 handles and 12 knobs, these parts are listed for about 33% more than we sell them for (about $150 for what is shown above).
Before our replacement parts were available, the few NOS (new old stock) parts available on eBay would often go for $20-$30, or 2-3 times what we sell our handles for.
Revere Ware find of the week – very cheap vintage set
If you’re looking for a good opportunity to grow your vintage (pre-1968) Revere Ware set, we’ve found the deal for you. Take a look at this auction for a 5-piece set, with 3 additional lids, for just $11 per piece shipped.
It may end up selling for more, but at the current price, it’s a steal.
Revere Ware trivet
We recently came across this very interesting piece on eBay.
And look at the gorgeous Revere Ware collection the seller has.
That is the first time I’ve seen a Revere Ware skillet with solid copper handles like that.
Square skillet deal
We wrote last week about tracking eBay searches to find rare Revere Ware related items or to get a good deal on something that typically sells for a lot. Our example was square skillets, which usually go for hundreds. This week one of our saved searches happened to find a great price on exactly that, a square skillet.
That’s about half of what they typically list for.
