I’ve never seen a Revere Ware pot damaged as badly as the one in this YouTube video:
The pot in question is a newer pot, with a thinner copper layer; I am shocked that he didn’t go through the copper layer into the stainless steel with all his grinding.
He goes further to demonstrate cleaning Revere Ware with Cameo copper cleaner and Cameo stainless steel cleaner.
I haven’t tried Cameo cleaners but I sure am going to.
All I can say is “WOW” !
That is SO wrong on so many levels. Mistake #1 was grinding off the high spots. The copper was blistered away from the stainless. Nothing can ever 100% cure that, but at the very least he should have tapped the blisters back to flush with the pan before polishing it. He may get away with it on a saucepan, but if you try that with a skillet, you are doomed to a lifetime of hot spots and uneven heating.
He keeps saying “almost like new” and I laugh. New ones don’t have peaks and valleys (craters) in the cladding. People throw around terms like “restored” way too much. What he did was a bandage, and he’ll soon figure out that he has a shiny pan that doesn’t work. Good for a dog dish I suppose.
Can i send frying pan for repair?
Unfortunately we don’t offer any repair services.
