Over the years, we’ve regularly been asked if we can supply new lids for the Revere Ware stainless steel mixing bowls.
Over time, the plastic lids wear out as the plastic ages, and they crack. Unfortunately, we don’t have a line on replacement lids of this type.
However, we recently came across an Indiegogo campaign for a new type of lids that is made to fit different sizes; The Unlid.
While we don’t have a set of the mixing bowls we might try the lids out on, they sure look like they will work. The lids are rubber and stretch to fit many different sizes snugly.
The only downside is that they aren’t expected to ship until May 2018.
Update
We’ve had an number of people ask us whether these will fit the Revere mixing bowls and how they can get them.
In answer to the first question, we don’t know for sure if they will fit. They look like they will from reading the specifications. We will only know once they ship and someone tries them out.
In term of timing, we originally reported that these were expected to be available in May 2018. As of April, the latest update from them doesn’t make a May delivery date likely, but perhaps later this year sometime. Please check the updates page on the campaign for the latest news.
In terms of how to get them, the only way we are aware presently is to sign up for one of the perks on the campaign.
Update 10/2/18
These have started shipping as of July and it appears you can still purchase them here (I just did). Just click on one of the perks to expand it and then select Get This Perk.
Let me get this straight. You sell the bowls with lids but claim you don’t have a line on lids. I don’t buy it. You just want people to buy new bowls.
We actually aren’t the company that makes the cookware. The Revere Ware brand is owned by World Kitchen (which also owns Pyrex and Corning). They sell cheap knockoff cookware now under those brands. They don’t sell any replacement parts at all for cookware they’ve made past or present. We picked up the baton they dropped and sell a selection of replacement parts.
how do I go about buying these lids and will they fit the 3 stainless steel bowls that I have with the Revere Ware stamped on them?????
Click on the Indiegogo campaign link above for more information, including whether they will fit your particular bowls.
Clicking on the “perk” didn’t work and searching online, the reviews on silicone lids is not great; I might as well use saranwrap. Since Revereware bowls were so incredibly popular and last a lifetime but the lids don’t, I would think that finding a manufacturer to make the lids for those bowls would be at least as lucrative as the replacement parts for cookware. I hope you do a little cost/benefit analysis and find that you can manufacture those lids. You have a captive audience there.
We’ve done that, and unfortunately the numbers just don’t add up. For starters, the number of inquiries we’ve received for those is considerably below what we received for some of our more recent new products, like the kettle cap and trigger. Second, if you search on eBay you will see that the number of those for sale is far less than other Revere Ware items that have replaceable parts. This is one of the few things we can use as a proxy to gauge how many of them are out there. Right now there are about 30 listings for nested mixing bowls out of 3,300 listings for Revere Ware. We just couldn’t sell enough of those to justify the many thousands of dollars in molds required to produce all the different sizes.
I suspect there is something out there intended for another manufacturers bowls that will prove to be a good replacement; perhaps it just hasn’t been found yet.
I have a set of Revere Ware Pots that come with 3 mixing bowls and covers. The smallest cover cracked. Is it possible for you to replace the cover for me at no charge? I know it happened to me with my Farberware mixing bowls and not only did Farberware replace the plastic covers for me, but they sent me three new bowls at no charge! Now that is what you call good customer service!! Looking forward to hearing from you soon.
We actually aren’t the cookware company. We sell replacement parts that Revere Ware stopped supplying in the 80’s. The Revere Ware brand is now owned by a company called Corelle. They stopped selling any items under the brand in 2018 and no longer provide any warranty support for the products. You are, unfortunately, on your own with finding a suitable replacement lid.
I need replacement lids for my stainless steel bowls! My Revere ware is 35 years old and look as good as new! I really want to get replacement lids for my bowls as I would like to pass the cook ware set down to my daughter! Please tell me I can get some replacement lids! Thanks for your help in advance! Please read the article above a little more closely. 🙂 We don’t have a line on original replacement lids. You are going to have to find something of the type we show above, made for general use but will fit your stainless steel bowls.
I kept my lids for years thinking, “i’m not strong enough”, or, “they will soften with age” …(didn’t happen…)
Still have them and after reading this I decided to try trimming the inside edge of the seal with a rounded tip seraded edged knife ….removing the inner part allowed extra room for the rolled edge….worked like a charm!
Dear Mr. Revere Ware Parts.
Yes, I too have an old set of Revere Ware bowls, have loved the set, and would really like to have replacement lids.
I have read the review questions and responses and now understand why the lids are no longer available.
Your replies to queries have been very, very gracious, patient, helpful, and thorough. Thank you.
For the rest of us, let’s move on.
Would Corelle tell you who supplied the original lids? Often times tool makers will keep the old molding tools for a while, as this is sunk cost and someone could call them and re-activate the tool, making them money for no investment. Just a thought and maybe you’ve already been down that road. Worth a try?
The cost of getting new tooling made isn’t necessarily the limiting factor, it is the minimum order quantities one must place at a time … thousands. From what we can tell, while we do get the occasional inquiry for those lids, we don’t get that many overall. It would take a long time to pay off our initial inventory costs.
Still no replacement lids available??
Other than the 3rd party ones called out here, no.
i also have a set that is like new. one lid is cracking and i would love to get a new set of lids. I am sure there are many other people needing lids but do not bother writing when they reach out to Revere Ware and read the above replies. how many set did they sell when they were on the market? This might be a money maker for another company with the capabilities to make these lids.
Unfortunately there is no more “Revere Ware”. The brand has been discontinued by the brand owners (Corelle Inc.). We just sell replacement parts and aren’t affiliated with the brand.
There are aftermarket lids that will work as we’ve shown through this and a couple of other blog posts. While there may be a lot of owners of the parts, the high cost of making the molds, and typical minimum order quantities make it hard to justify the investment. To help gauge the popularity, consider that 75 out of 13,000 listings for Revere Ware are for mixing bowls right now. Compare that to lids, which can require a replacement knob, at 620 listings.
I need replacement lids also. What is the vote count now!
There are a fair number of people that want them, but unfortunately far fewer than the other replacement parts we’ve made. We wouldn’t likely ever make back the cost to make the molds, much less the minimum order quantity we would have to purchase.
