Description
These are replacement handles for 2 1/3 quart Revere Ware tea kettles. Note that Revere Ware made these under several models over the years, including 2701, 2901, 2722, and 2712. If your Revere Ware tea kettle is 2 1/3 quarts and looks like the one in the picture below, this handle should work.
Material: Bakelite, stainless steel
Includes: One handle + hardware
Fits: 2 1/3 quart Revere Ware tea kettles originally made under the following model numbers: 2701, 2901, 2722, and 2712.
Replaces: We do not know the original Revere Ware part number for this part.
Hardware Notes
We have found three different styles of screw for attaching the rear of the handle to the tea kettle, so we include one of each. You will only need one of these screws. Note that there are two distinct thread patterns among the three screws. If the screw doesn’t go in easily, do not try to force the screw in; try a different screw. Here are the screw sizes for reference:
- US #6 screw 1/2 inch / 12.65 mm long with approx 0.135 inch / 3.4 mm width at the threads
- US #6 screw 3/4 inch / 19 mm long with approx 0.135 inch / 3.4 mm width at the threads
- Metric M4 screw 0.38 inch / 10mm long with approx 0.157 inch / 4mm width at the threads
Bakelite Notes
Bakelite is a great heat resistant material, but it can be a bit brittle if mistreated. Do not over tighten the screws or you risk cracking the Bakelite.
It is generally not a good idea to put Bakelite parts in the oven; it can make them dull or in some cases crack. We do not offer our Bakelite parts as oven-safe.
It is generally not a good idea to put Bakelite parts in the dishwasher; the soap will eventually dull and dry out the surface of the Bakelite. We do not offer our Bakelite parts as dishwasher-safe.
Installation Notes
Be careful not to over tighten either of the screws on the handle as they may pull off the nut welded to the kettle or embedded in the handle.
See our printed installation instructions for the full description of how to replace the handle.
